Mendoza Declaration
Declaration from Mendoza
June 13, 2025
Towards a Global Alliance of Regions and Impact Trade
The undersigned of this Declaration, gathered at the First Ibero-American Meeting of Regions and Impact Trade in Mendoza, Argentina, from June 11 to 13, 2025, represent entities and institutions united by a common purpose: to build a regenerative, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for our territories—both for Ibero-America and for the world, for today and for our tomorrow.
From our richness and diversity, we share a deep conviction: global challenges demand innovative solutions that emerge from and empower the local, are strengthened through interregional alliances, and are projected rapidly to the world through trade that creates positive economic, social, and environmental impact.
Our regions are living laboratories of change, capable of generating systemic, replicable, and transformative responses to challenges such as inequality, the climate crisis, the need for ecosystem regeneration, and others present or emerging in the future. They also hold tremendous potential to complement the ongoing efforts of nation-states, even accelerating and amplifying their actions in the territories and through international trade.
In a constantly transforming world, we choose to act collectively, focusing on what is possible: to forge ecosystems that integrate the economic with the social, cultural, and environmental; to weave flows of trust among public, private, academic, and social actors; and to co-create futures that balance well-being, sustainability, and development. RITA (Regional Impact Trade Alliance) continues to emerge as a catalytic movement to connect territories, facilitate exchanges and comprehensive trade, multiplying its global impact, promoting a new economic competitiveness—more resilient and efficient—based on the common good, and from there, fostering territorial belonging while honoring the diversity of our cultures.
With this Declaration, we commit to promoting local solutions with global relevance, connecting pioneering regions that co-create responses to shared challenges through interdependent, interterritorial cooperation and complementarity.
To foster economies of positive impact, integrating into their DNA the simultaneous management of social, environmental, and cultural dimensions—both short- and long-term—to generate sustained well-being over time.
To build multi-stakeholder alliances based on trust, collaboration, and integration, positioning our regions as leading references for a new global economic identity of peace and integration, capable of inspiring and attracting trade, investment, and cooperation opportunities.
This Declaration, born in Mendoza, is an open invitation to territories from anywhere in the world to join RITA in the times to come, strengthening a global alliance of impact regions.
We aspire for this Declaration to inspire and guide transformative actions over the next decade—while thinking about the next 100 years—welcoming new regions that wish to sign it and contribute to an international trade system that transcends mere transactions, generating shared benefits, holistic value, and solutions of global relevance.
Let us begin this path together, honor those who have already taken meaningful steps, spread our enthusiasm to other regions, and multiply its spirit for a regenerative, inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future!
